"The two components, parts of the steering mechanism of a commercial Bedford truck always attracted me as a male and female form. 'One day', I used to say to myself 'I will have them chromed and will have them set on a piece of dark wood'. The components were about three inches tall, the first inch was a cylinder of about an inch diameter, this quickly necked down with sharp radius to about half an inch diameter for approx. a quarter inch of the height. The next inch was a sphere, again approx. an inch in diameter. For the male piece this remained as was, for the female piece this had the additional broaching operation which cut through the sphere to create a symmetrical breast shape on front and back. The sphere then again reduced in size with a smooth radius to a cylinder which was approx. a half an inch in diameter for the remainder of the height. When standing together the male and female form were obvious and as I imagined them heavily chromed would have been on object that gave me real pleasure. Unhappily I ever did complete it."
