Low Relief II, 2004, documents [an] example of civil demonstration, in protest against the wrongs caused by the building of the 'seperation fence' (the term coined by the authorities). It also provides a record of the exertion of increased military power over a civilian population. The embossed effect achieved in this work is more pronounced and in this way recalls classical bas-relief scenes depicting historic wars, and the chronicle of commiting the history of the victorious to stone. ( Galit Eilat, in the exhibition catalogue 'Wherever I am, Yael Bartana, Emily Jacir, Lee Miller, 2004)
