Erik van Lieshout has created a new series of reserve coins for the Art Reserve Bank. Tuesday March 12 the artist will be present at the bank's headquarters on the Zuidas to personally mint the first issue of these coins. You are cordially invited to this festive minting event. If the weather allows for it, snacks and drinks will be served at the grounds of the Art Reserve Bank. If it rains, however, we will move to Café Dickies on the Gustav Mahlerplein. After the ceremonial minting of the first coin, the Dutrannoit minting press will run for another hour, offering visitors a change to purchase one of the fresh-minted coins. The price of the coin will depend on the exchange-rate on Tuesday. The bank keeps a simple policy of who comes first, gets first. So be in time for on Tuesday only 20 coins will be minted. Starting Wednesday the remaining coins of the limited edition of 100 pieces can be purchased at the bank's teller or they can be ordered online at the website.
