Ryan Gander is featured in the exhibition 'Play Well' at the Wellcome Collection and he is showing 'I is…(v)' (2003), a marble sculpture based on his daughter’s sheet den.
Why do we play? How important is it for all of us, young or old? What does it mean to play well? The exhibition explores how playing transforms both childhood and society. Using toys, games, artworks and design, this exhibition investigates how we played as children and how we play now we’re grown up: developing social bonds, emotional resilience and physical wellbeing.
