In the exhibtion Post-Capital, Roger Hiorns and other 21 artists reflect on the paradox inherent of capitalist systems in relation technological progress. Post-Capital brings together works of sculpture, painting, photography, video, and performance that address the nature of production, consumption, and wealth in the 21st century. A new sculptural installation by Roger Hiorns in the Great Hall features an iconic aircraft encircled by plastic tubing and a system that manifests both terminal stasis and constant flow. With the large-scale sculptural installation The retrospective view of the pathway, (pathways), Hiorns reflects on the recent phenomenon of updating traditional rituals in today’s globalized society.
