For the fifth edition of Greater New York, MoMA invites Steffani Jemison and other 46 artists to narrate the city of New York. The show opens up geographic and historical boundaries by expanding familiar narratives around artists and art movements in New York. With Similitude (2019), Jemison explores modernist mime, postcolonial mimicry, gesture, and abstraction in relation to American and European mid-20th century modernist mime.
