Annet Gelink Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition 'René Daniëls a film by Erik van Lieshout' at De Pont Museum. The exhibition displays a new film by Erik van Lieshout, which presents a portrait of the Dutch painter René Daniëls. Besides the film, new work by René Daniëls and new paintings by Erik van Lieshout are included in the exhibition.
With René Daniëls, Erik van Lieshout brings to light a penetrating, cheerful but also humble portrait of the artist, as well as explore a dialogue going beyond words, gestures and expressions. Rooted into the present and focusing on artist practice and devotion to art, the film emerges from the alternation between puns and visual jokes of Daniëls and Van Lieshout’s direct and witty humour.
