Sarah van Sonsbeeck's solo exhibition The State of Things takes place as a part of the Ostfriesland Biennale. Fundamental to Sarah van Sonsbeeck's artistic exploration is the investigation of the formal and conceptual qualities of gold. On view is her impressive gold tapestry Six bars of gold, tapestry, which hovers above the heads of the visitors. With this work, Van Sonsbeeck reflects on the value and worth of gold and builds a bridge to a traditional East Frisian craft, the filigree goldsmith's art, which has left a lasting mark on the region.
