Twilight Land consists of works that try to give physical and visual expression to a state of liminality with regards to democracy, reinforced by the current geopolitical and ecological crises. On view is Yael Bartana's Two Minutes to Midnight (2021), a videowork that explores what would happen if countries around the world were governed by women. Bartana places real-life participants within a fictional environment, mixing scripted material with improvised discussions. Ultimately, she seeks to answer the ever-so pertinent question that forms the title of her series: ‘What if Women Ruled the World?’
